Obituaries: June 29

A service for Ilyene Louise Serosky, 76, a member of the 1959 class at St. John High School, was June 17 in Las Vegas, Nev. She died June 9, 2017, of breast cancer.

Born in Kapowsin, Wash., she was raised in Rover, Idaho; Rock Lake; Pine City, and Ewan. She was employed for many years as a bookkeeper in Las Vegas.

Surviving are her husband, Thomas Paddock, Las Vegas; a son, Tommy Paddock, Salem, Ore .; two daughters, Kendall, San Diego, and Paulett (Jim) Newkirk, Las Vegas; two brothers, Melvin H, Serosky, Jr., and Mick (Marion) Serosky, Royal City; six grandchildren, and four great-grandchildren.

The family suggests memorials be donations to a local breast cancer foundation.

Ruth I. Bafus, 83, passed away June 26, 2017, at her home in Colfax, WA. She was born in Endicott, Wash., to Adam V. and Mary Elizabeth (Gerlitz) Morasch on October 9, 1933. There will be a service held on July 17, 2017 at Peace Lutheran Church at 11 a.m. A full obituary will be published at a later date. Bruning Funeral Home is caring for the family.
