Bulldog wrestlers win medals at Davenport

Five Colfax wrestlers collected medals Saturday in the season opener at the Davenport Invitational. The Bulldogs rolled up 62 team points to place fourth in the big meet.

Reardan wrestlers dominated to place first with 204 points, a 122-point margin over number-two Kittitas.

Garrett Phillips led the Colfax entry with a 1-1 mark to place second in the 113 weight class.

Third-place finishers were posted by Nolan Burrill with a 2-1 mark in the 106 class; Chris Jones, 3-1 in the 145 class, and Augie Allenbach, 2-1 in the 220 class. All took wins in the meet's consolation finals.

Dane Hall placed fourth in the 160 class with a 2-2 mark.

The Bulldogs Saturday will roll north to compete in the invitational tournament at Liberty.

145-Chris Jones bye, pinned Adrian Henrix-Dav 2:03, to Tory Nichols-LkR 1-2, over Nathan Keifer-Rdn 10-0, pinned Alex Diviney-Dav 2:30 in consolation final.

152-Nathan Barney bye, pinned by Conner Houlihan-Rdn 1:01, pinned by Justin Werner-Freeman 1:16.

160-Dane Hall bye, over Tommy Ott-Kit 6-1, to Joe Pesky-WCK 2-4, over Bailey Hunton-Dav 4-2 in overtime, to Glenn Johnson-Lib 0-3 in consolation final.

220-Augie Allenbach bye, over Daniel Ramirez-Mab 8-4, pinned by Luke Peebles-Kit :30, bye, pinned Ramirez 1:00 in consolation final.
