Radford signs Olivia Hodge

Olivia Hodge of Blacksburg, Va., signed a national letter of intent to compete in track and cross country for Radford University in Virginia. She is the daughter of Tom Hodge, a member of the 1984 class at Colfax High School. Hodge, during his high school years, was an outside shooter for the Bulldogs under Coach Bob Bafus.

Olivia Hodge received her running skills from her mother, Jenny, who competed for the University of Virginia at Charlottesville where she was raised. Olivia earned eight varsity letters at Blacksburg which is the home of Virginia Tech.

She was a member of the Blacksburg High School team which qualified to run in Nike Cross Nationals in Portland. She has been a member of seven cross country and track state championship teams in Virginia. She plans to major in nutrition and dietetics or biology at Radford, which is a member of the Big South Conference.

Tom Hodge played basketball at Lewis Clark State College, earned an undergraduate degree from Washington State University and master’s degree at Virginia Tech. He is now employed as a human relations director for a company there.

Crystal Christopherson, Colfax, is an aunt of Olivia Hodge.
