Cougars win state ticket

The Cougars A Legion team qualified at Spokane for a the state playoffs which will start Saturday at Walla Walla. The Cougars play in the Legion 14-16 age bracket. The Cougar team is made up of players from Pullman, Colfax, Rosalia and Pomeroy.

They entered the district playoff as the winner of the National League with a 12-1 record.

In the district playoff, the Cougars defeated North Central and Mt. Spokane in the first two district games to guarantee a slot at this week’s Walla Walla show. They then tripped Mt. Spokane 7-6 with a seven-run charge in the seventh.
