Seven seniors end softball careers

Seven Colfax seniors who finished up their softball careers with the team banquet June 1 were Brittany Lewis, third base; Jolee Aeschliman, outfield; Andra Hamilton, outfield; Amara Huber, shortstop; Kori Goodwin, second base; Erica Eng, pitcher; and Kindra Kneale, first base.

Coach Terry Eng reported the year’s 24-6 record posted by this year’s team was the most wins ever by a Colfax softball team.

Team captains awards went to Goodwin, who rated as the top hitter on the team, and Eng who threw 581 strikeouts in her career (295 senior year).

Juniors letter winners on the team included Roxanne Allenbach, Allison Dunning, Sidney Sheer, and Sarah Appel.

Sophomores and freshmen on the team were Chelsea Becker, Golldie Akesson, Abbie Miller and Cheyanne Stokes.

Eng was also listed as league MVP and Goodwin and Huber were listed for All-League honors.

The Bulldogs set an all-time league record by scoring 334 runs in their 30 games and booked an on-base percentage of over 500.

Jayvee Coach Kinsey Doering noted the team posted a 14-2 record for the season.

Jayvee participation awards went to Chesirae Hopkins, Kiah Miller, Gretta Geier, Annie Larkin, Izzy Erickson, Aleisha Knee, Hayley Aasse, Goldie Akesson, Chelsea Becker, and Cheyanne Stokes.
