Wildcats advance to state title game

After winning the state championship in basketball in a journey which included a dismissal of Sunnyside Christian, the Colton High baseball team may be on a similar quest.

Set to play in the state baseball final on Saturday vs. Oakville in Centralia, the Wildcats got there by beating Sunnyside Christian 19-0 May 24, followed by a 9-6 win over Liberty Christian.

Both games were played at Medical Lake.

“As much as you might like your offense, you never expect 19-0,” said Colton coach Pat Doumit.

The game ended in five innings as the Knights of Sunnyside Christian never mustered a threat.
