Colton softball team takes district top seed to state

Colton and Touchet met last Saturday to decide who got the No. 1 seed to state and the Wildcats took it definitively, 14-2.

After four innings and a tie score of 1-1, Colton blew open the game in the fifth inning with 13 runs.

In the process, Touchet dropped two fly balls as the Wildcat lead expanded.

“When the wheels fall off, I don’t know what causes it,” said Colton coach Brad Nilson.

Touchet returned to bat in the bottom of the fifth and scored one more run when the Wildcats overthrew their third baseman.

Touchet had no earned runs in the game.
