Bulldog girls win Undeberg; Mackleit, Stamper get two wins

Colfax girls collected the trophy for the winning the giant Undeberg Invitational Saturday at Ritzville. The Bulldog girls topped 26 other teams with 99.25 points.

Colfax girls rolled up another track win at the Undeberg Invitational in Ritzville Saturday with 99.25 points, 34 points ahead of number-two Kittitas.

Colfax boys placed fourth with 40 points behind the 52-point win pegged by Colville.

Tekoa/Oakesdale-Garfield/Palouse girls placed ninth with 31 points.

St. John/Endicott-LaCrosse/Washtucna girls placed 20th with 8 points, and the Eagle boys placed 17th with 20.

Bailey Mackleit of Colfax won both hurdle events and the Colfax girls 4 X 100 and 4-x 200 relay teams again took two wins.

Darcy Stamper of LaCrosse booked two individual wins to top the boys side. Stamper soared to a 6-6 to top the high jump. The mark was six inches over the number-two mark, a 6-0 posted by Porter Romm of Columbia of Burbank.

Stamper also soared for 21-7.25 to win the long jump, more the 15 inches ahead of the 20-2.75 marked by number-two Joe Long of Royal City.

Other win for a county trackster was the 12-0 booked by Sam Dailey of Colfax. Tanner Perry of Davenport also cleared 12-0 on a later attempt.

The Colfax 4 X 100 team of Mackleit, Leah Heiner, Olivia Mellor and Parker Warwick clocked 52.41, an 11-tenths edge over Lind/Ritzville. The 4 X 200 team of Mackleit, Warwick, Taylor Larsen and Sarah Kraut clocked a 1:50.49, a .71 gap over Lind Ritzville.

Scout Cai won the high jump with 5-2. Olivia Pakootas of Tekoa also cleared 5-2 on a later attempt to place second.
