Straughan perfect in Moses Lake

Jake Straughan threw a perfect game over Spring Break.

Playing at Moses Lake’s Big Bend Community College against Lake Roosevelt of Coulee Dam, Wash., the Colton senior threw 70 pitches for 54 strikes, 16 balls, 14 strikeouts and no walks in seven innings.

The Wildcats won the game 5-0 in the first of two games played April 4.

Only one ball cleared the infield in the game, which was caught by Grant Kinzer with a diving catch.

Colton won the second game 6-5 with Jordan Druffel on the mound striking out seven.

The Wildcats are now 3-5 overall on the season.
