SJE, TOR girls head to state

The St. John-Endicott and Tekoa-Oakesdale-Rosalia golf teams will each send two girls to the state 1B/2B tournament next week in Tacoma.

On Monday, St. John-Endicott’s Michal Schuster won the district tournament at Walla Walla Country Club with a score of 161 while Sierra McCanna placed fifth with a score of 219.

For Tekoa-Oakesdale-Rosalia, Kim Groom tied for sixth with 248 and Nicole Zimmerman finished eighth (249).

The state tournament will be played at Oakbrook Golf Course of Tacoma on next Tuesday and Wednesday, May 21-22.
