The Senders

The Senders, one of the region’s most popular classic rock and roll bands, will return to the Empire Theater in Tekoa Saturday, May 4, at 7 p.m. Since 1988 the four-member group has performed a large repertoire of hits from the 1950s to the 1970s, including surf music, Doo-Wop, Beatles favorites, romantic ballads, iconic classics and rockabilly-influenced songs.

They strive to recreate the tunes as close to the originals as possible. Strong vocals and solid four-part harmonies enable them to perform selections. Their song list includes hits by the Beatles, the Rolling Stones, Buddy Holly, Chuck Berry, Van Morrison, Credence Clearwater Revival, Elvis Presley, Eddie Cochran, Ritchie Valens, the McCoys, the Beach Boys and many more.

Members of the group are Hal Logan on drums, Jim Roberts on on guitar, Jon Anderson on keyboard and guitar and Mark Snodgrass on upright and electric bass. All are longtime performers and have taught music at various points in their careers. They are a favorite at class reunions, car shows and community festivals.

Admission to the concert will be $12 for adults, $5 for students; 12 and under free.
