Colfax golfers win at home

The Colfax High School boys’ golf team played Tuesday at home in a three-team match, posting the lowest total score of 219. Davenport was second with 258 while Northwest Christian had 263.

Hunter Weitz led Colfax with a nine-hole score of 39 while Cody Groenning shot 42 and Casey Johnson tied a Davenport golfer with a 43.

Other results included Ryan Christopherson (48), Chris Koenig (47), Cole Neu (57) and Michael Clinton (82).

“I think we’re doing good,” said Colfax coach Chris Gorton. “We’re pretty young. Our top six players are three sophomores, a freshman and two seniors.”

For the girls, Colton’s lone player Paige Mackleit shot a 51, one stroke behind leader Kristine Lampkin of Lind-Ritzville-Sprague.
