Betty June Timm

Memorial services for Betty June Timm, 81, will be Saturday, April 7, 2012, at 1:30 p.m. at the Kramer Funeral Home, Palouse, with reception to follow at the Palouse Federated Church. Mrs. Timm died March 19, 2012, at Providence St. Peter’s Hospital in Olympia from complications with pneumonia.

Born June 10, 1930, in Potlach, to Luther and Ruth Barnes, she attended school in Palouse and was a long-time resident of Garfield. She married Virgil Culton, and they were later divorced. A son born to that marriage, Roger Culton, is deceased.

She married Fred Timm Oct. 5, 1957. They had two daughters, Kathy and Susan Timm. She worked for several years as a waitress in the Palouse/Garfield area and then was a full-time housewife. She was an avid reader, loved to travel and enjoyed oil painting.

She was a member of the LaDow Grange, Garfield American Legion, Garfield Women’s Club, Garfield Christian Church and Garfield Lion’s Club.

Surviving are her husband, Fred Timm, Olympia; daughters, Kathy Timm, Puyallup, and Susan Timm, Olympia; one sister, Joyce Gustin, Pullman; three grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren.

Ronald McGrady

Ronald Cole McGrady, 80, died April 2, 2012, in Denham Springs, La. A graveside memorial service will be at the Bethel Cemetery in Steptoe at a later date.

Mr. McGrady spent his early life in Steptoe and was a graduate of Steptoe High School. He also served on the Colfax Police department and as a Whitman County sheriff’s deputy. He later was a commercial truck driver in Lewiston before moving back to Louisiana where he spent the rest of his adult life.

He was born to Cole and Doris McGrady Nov. 10, 1931, in Pomeroy.

He is survived by sons, Brian McGrady, Denham Springs; Marshall McGrady, Portland; brother, Larry McGrady, Lacey; five grandchildren, and one great-grandchild. He was preceded in death by his wife, Patricia, and his adopted daughter, Christie.
