Thrifty Grandmothers

Colfax Thrifty Grandmothers club conducted their annual Christmas luncheon Monday with 23 ladies in attendance. Donations have steadily been coming through the front door of their re-located site in the former Deacons Medical Equipment store.

Disbursements for the past few months are as follows:

Regular monthly donation to Whitman County Chaplaincy; $1,000 to F.I.S.H; $5,000 in scholarships to area high school graduates; $500 to Community Action for school supplies; $60 to a Boy Scouts Eagle Scout project; $1,000 to Colfax Jr. Livestock Association; $500 hospital expenses for a child; $39 car expenses for individual; $100 memorials; $500 to Colfax Jr. Rodeo; $500 to Whitman County Library; $200 Colfax High School Musical; $250 Christmas Giving Tree; $250 Colfax Firemen’s Toy Box; $100 Union Gospel Mission; $50 Palouse Empire Fair Foundation; $500 to F.F.A. National Representative; $100 to New Year’s Baby at Whitman Hospital; $2,500 to Colfax and Community Fund (1/2 of pledge).
