Hawks’ net string now 4-0 on wins over Sparts, W-cats

Tekoa/Oakesdale Nighthawks rolled out their fourth league win Tuesday night when they downed Colton in four games. Line score from the match at Tekoa was 24-14 25-18 22-25 and 25-22. Cassy Mendoza led the ‘hawks with 20 kils Tuesday and Eden Anderson had 5 blocks. Kaela Dewan put up 37 assists and had 6 digs.

Paige Vincent hits 6 kills for the Wildcats and Haley Moser had 12 assists.

At Rosalia Thursday, the Nighthawks downed the Spartans in another four game match, 25-14 17-25 17-25 and 25-14 with Dewan booking 30 assists and 5 aces and Mendoza hitting 16 kills. Maley had 3 aces and 4 blocks for the Spartans.

COLTON Thursday defeated Touchet in three games, 25-17 25-9 and 25-16 with Grace Druffel hitting 10 kills and Haley Moser tapping 10 assists. Jenna Moser had 8 aces in the three-gamer.

ST. JOHN/ENDICOTT Eagles rolled out a four-game win at Rosalia in the Tuesday round. The Eagles took the match with Gretchen Van Lith out of the lineup with shoulder problems.

Rosalia took the first game 25-19, then SJE turned it around with a 27-25 in the second game. Freshman Rachel Gfeller plugged the two-point game with a pair of aces. The Eagles went on to take the next two games 25-20 and 25-14.

Emily Jones put down 17 kills for the Eagles and Sierra McCanna hit 6 aces. Sami Bailey had 27 digs, and Morgan Anderson logged 17 assists. Gfeller had 4 blocks.

Briann Maley had 15 kills for the Spartans and Maddy St. John had 9 assists.

The Eagles Thursday took a four-game win over the GP Vikings on their home court in the Thursday round with Van Lith belting 18 kills and Anderson zapping 16 aces.

LACROSSE/WASHTUCNA defeated Touchet in a five game battle on the road Tuesday. The Tigercats took a solid 15-6 win in the fifth game decider to wrap it.

Leaders for LW were Anne Fleming with 17 assists and 6 digs, Logan Harder with 9 kills and 3 aces, and Kadie Whinery with 3 blocks.

The Tigercats made the trip to Touchet after bowing to Pomeroy in three games last Thursday, 25-20 25-19 25-19.

Harder had 6 kills against the Pirates and four aces.

GARFIELD/PALOUSE Tuesday defeated Pomeroy in another four-game battle 25-16 11-25 25-18 and 25-23. Holly Leendertrsen, who nailed the last game with her fifth ace, also had 10 assists and 5 kills in the win.

Delaney Monahan had 10 blocks for the Bucs, and HayLee Koller put up 15 assists.
