Cougars still on prowl for first league win

Whitman Cougars booked another close game Tuesday night when they traveled to East Valley for a Junior Legion league round. The EV hosts prevailed 5-3 after a steady performance on the mound for the Cougars by Rosalia’s Will Dedic.

“It was a good, close ball game, and we squandered a couple of opportunities,” Cougar Coach Matt Johnson noted.

East Valley scored four runs in the bottom of the second inning, and the Cougars were unable to make it up.

They scored their first run when Patrick Jacobs singled, Ryan Maley moved him over with a bunt, and Stephen McAleer singled for the RBI.
