Artist Wes Hanson to hold watercolor workshop

Artisans at the Dahmen Barn in Uniontown has scheduled Wes Hanson, visiting artist from Spokane, to teach a two day workshop on Nov. 6 and 7 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Learn how to apply and manipulate watercolors in various ways, simplify landscapes and dramatically develop them through composition, values, and colors. Paint along with the instructor as you learn how to handle watercolors and be helped by him as you work with your own subjects. The cost is $110. The materials students must bring are listed on the calendar listing of the Dahmen Barn website. Registration is required by Nov. 1 and can be made online on the calendar page.

Wes Hanson has painted watercolors for 35 years, teaches drawing and painting to adults in the Inland Northwest for Spokane Art Supply and North Idaho College. His works are displayed at the Denise Oliver Gallery in Harrison, Idaho, and the Dahmen Barn in Uniontown. He is an active member in Watercolorists of the Inland Northwest and is a member of the American Watercolor Society and National Watercolor Society.

Artisans at the Dahmen Barn is a creativity center in Uniontown in the big white barn behind the famous iron wheel fence on highway 195. The facility is open Thursday through Sunday from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. It is fully handicap accessible and has no daily admission fee. Information: http://www.artisanbarn.org
