Fleeta M. Patton

Funeral services for Fleeta M. Patton, 94, will be Monday, June 21, at 2 p.m. at the Palouse Federated Church. The Rev. Kathy L. Kramer will officiate. Burial will follow at the Greenwood Cemetery in Palouse. Mrs. Patton died Friday afternoon, June 11, 2010, at Pullman Regional Hospital from complications of a stroke.

Born April 5, 1916, at Warden, to W. Curtis and Lena Boller Lazelle, she came to Palouse with her family at an early age. She attended West Cove Country School through the first grade. She then attended Palouse schools and graduated from Palouse High School in 1934. Fleeta worked at Williamson’s Department Store in Palouse as a seamstress for several years.

She married Howard Patton Dec. 15, 1941, at Moscow, and the couple made their home near Palouse where they farmed. In 1948 the couple moved from the farm into their home in Palouse. The couple retired from farming in 1977.

An accomplished organist, she was the Palouse Christian Church organist for several years. She also played for weddings and funerals.

She was a member of the Palouse Roundtable and was instrumental for organizing the winter craft sale. She enjoyed working in her yard, oil painting and canning.

Survivors include her husband of 68 years, Howard Patton, Palouse; two daughters, Toni (Damon) Brantner, Pullman; Teri (Howard) Reeves, Spokane; three grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

Juanita Lust

Juanita I. Lust, 86, died June 14, 2010, in Davenport. A memorial service will be on Saturday, June 19 at 11 a.m. at the Wilbur Presbyterian Church with Pastor Heather Jepsen, officiating. Concluding Services and Inurnment will follow at 4 p.m. at the Endicott Cemetery. A full obituary will appear in next week’s paper.
