TOR, Colton book wins

The conventional pitching style of Darcy Stamper of LWK contrasts with Holden Druffel's submarine delivery in the first game Saturday at Colton.

Tekoa/Oakesdale/ Rosalia Tuesday defeated St. John/Endicott 12-3 at Oakesdale to advance their record to 7-5. Flash Hodges pitched the win with nine hits allowed.

Will Dedic and Brandon Hovde topped the 14-hit TOR attack with homers. The hosts scored four runs in the first inning with their first four batters getting hits,

Bryce Bennett started on the mound for the Eagles, and Miguel Rice relieved him in the fifth inning. Sam Raynor had the top hit, a triple.

The two clubs met Tuesday after a rough going last week on the road.

At Walla Walla Saturday DeSales dropped the TOR team 9-5 and 11-1. The first game locked up at 1-1 until the fourth inning when DeSales began to break out. Brandon Hovde pitched the opener.

Touchet hosted the SJE Friday and took two wins over the Eagles, 7-3 and 15-2.

Colton Saturday booked two big wins over the young LWK squad in a county matchup at Kramer Field in Colton. The hosts pounded 16 hits for a 25-1 win in the first game with Holdan Druffel giving up just three hits.

Chase Druffel led the Colton bats with three hits, including a grand slam homer. Nick Jacobs also homered in the first game.

Josh Straughan threw a one-hitter at the Tigercats in the second game, a 20-0 shutout. The Wildcats had 15 hits.

Genesee Tuesday pegged a 9-4 win over Colton at Kramer Field. The Bulldogs came back after trailing 1-3 and capped the charge with three runs in the last inning.

At Odessa Tuesday, LWK sustained two losses . The host Tigers won the opener 10-0 and the second game 12-2.

Darcy Stamper pitched the first game for the Tigercats, and Jed Zimmer pitched the second game.

Coach Dan Hall credited his young Tigercat team with marking improvement as the season advances. The ‘cats are booking better bat performance and the pitchers are cutting down the walks allowed to opponents.
