Schuster sisters collect

St. John/Endicott’s Schuster sisters added a pair of medals to their collection last week by topping SE golfers in two of three matches.

The Schusters missed the medal Tuesday on the Dayton course. Bulldog Caylyn Tate’s 101 was good for the top spot, with Michal Schuster right on her heels at 102. Erin Schuster finished with a 105.

Tekoa/Oakesdale/Rosalia girls were led by Lisa Harper at 121. Nicole Zimmerman followed 141 and Margo Kliewer 143.

Casey Brown of TOR was the top local finisher with an 81. John Quinton’s 90 topped the SJE boys.

Ryan Baumgart of DeSales took top honors with a one-over 73.

Other TOR finishers were John Kuhn 86, Earl Gaines 87, Joe Gaines 97, Jim Maley 111 and Corbin Dube 123. For SJE were William Knott 98, Dakota White 105, Steven Bowen 117, Blake Bailey 122 and Travis Nieman 130.

Michal Schuster booked the sisters’ first medal of the week Saturday on the hilly par-31 Pomeroy course with an 18-hole score of 90. Erin Schuster followed with a 103. Erin Elkins shot a 145 to round out the SJE girls.

Pirate Trevor Koberstein topped the boys on his home course with a par 62. Tate Schauble’s 91 was best for the Eagles, followed by Dakota White’s 105 and John Quinton’s 123.

Erin Schuster shot a 43 to bag the medal last Thursday on the par-36 Quail Ridge course at Clarkston. Michal Schuster followed in second place with a 47.

The boys squad booked a fourth place finish with a 209. Pomeroy, powered by medalist Trevor Koberstein’s 38, took team honors with a 163. Asotin followed in second with a 180 and Orofino booked a 189.

William Knott and Travis Nieman paced the Eagle boys, each carding a 49. Dakota White followed with a 57, John Quinton finished in 59 strokes and Evan Jones booked a 62.

The Eagles next host a league meet this afternoon at 1 p.m.
