Eagle, Wildcat, Tigercat girls book softball wins

St. John/Endicott girls Tuesday shut down Tekoa/Oakesdale/Rosalia 14-0 at Tekoa in the lone matchup of county clubs in SE softball action. The Eagles hammered out 10 hits in taking the win.

Kelly Van Lith threw a four hitter at the ‘hawks, struck out four and walked just three. Trisha Luft and Devan Bafus led the Eagle bats with triples, and Haley Reiber tagged a double.

The win came after the Eagles were stopped by a tough Touchet club on the road Saturday.

Touchet shut out SJE 8-0 in the first game. The Indians had eight hits off Gretchen Van Lith.

Score for the second win by the hosts was 13-4. Touchet scored four runs in the second inning after the teams had tied 2-2 in the first.

Tekoa/Oakesdale/ Rosalia hosted Tuesday after taking two defeats on the road at DeSales Saturday. Scores for the Irish wins were 11-3 and 12-2. The young TOR team made too many errors against the experience DeSales squad.

LaCrosse/Washtucna Tuesday defeated Lind/Ritzville 8-4 at Lind with Kirsten Stubbs throwing a five hitter. She struck out three Broncos and walked just five.

Stubbs homered and tripled against the Broncs and finished with three of the Tigercat RBIs.

Catcher Gladys Martinez doubled for two RBIs.

Monday, the Tigercats took a 6-3 win over a young Odessa jayvee club. Stubbs homered and doubled, and Taylor Weekes tagged her first homer of the season. Megan Blauert hit 3-3 for two RBIs.

Colton Saturday hammered LW twice in a matchup of 1B teams on the Wildcats’ turf. The Wildcats took the opener 19-1 with 12 hits and the booked a 19-0 shutout in the second game with 16 hits.

Wildcat pitcher Mikayla Nygreen allowed two hits in the first game, and Kelsey Moser allowed three hits in the second game.

Kelsey Moser, Nygreen and Mollie Kramer each had two hits in the first game with Kramer socking a homer.

In the second game, Megan Grassl and Kramer each had three hits with a double. Nygreen and Haley Moser each had two hits with Nygreen booking a triple.

Colton Tuesday pegged a 4-1 win over Genesee, their cross border neighbor. The Wildcats stacked 10 hits with Mollie Kramer blasting two homers. Mikayla Nygreen had three hits with a double.

Kelsey Moser fanned nine and allowed seven hits in taking the win.

Garfield/Palouse girls Saturday hammered Asotin 19-4 in the first game of a double at Asotin with 11 hits. Emily Witthuhn threw a four hitter, and Erin Witthuhn and B Beilenberg each had three hits.

Asotin in the second game scored in the bottom of the seventh to pull out an 8-7 win. The Vikings had six hits with Madi Woltering tagging three hits.
