CHS assembly to recognize state honorees

A school-wide assembly to honor student achievement at the highest level has been scheduled for next Wednesday, April 14, beginning at 9:45 a.m. in the Colfax High School auditorium.

Recognition will go to state champions and state competitors in sports and other events. The assembly will be open to the public, according to Principal Gary Weitz.

Athletic Director Mike Morgan and ASB Activities Coordinator Cathy Landers will give the welcome. Volleyball Coach Sue Doering and Girls Basketball Coach Corey Baerlocher will receive legislative recognition.

Coaches on the program will be Jason Cooper, girls and boys track; Jamie Kinley, cross country; Jim Heilsberg, golf; Morgan, football; Reece Jenkin, boys basketball; and Baerlocher, girls basketball and Rhonda Pittman, cheerleaders. Other program directors who will honor high achievers are Cary Cammack, choir; Morgan, band; Emily Jones, Future Problem Solvers; Brian Long, FFA and Cathy White, FCCLA.
