'Rock 'n Roll' hits Oakesdale stage

Oakesdale Drama Department presented “Long Live Rock-N-Roll” Friday night. Those participating were Desiree Chappell, Drake Hinkins, Trevor Renstrom, Michael Conklin, Katie Graffis, Cora Fisher, Nick Wright, Kaela Dewan, Jeffrey Degon, Britney Radford, Amanda Tarbuck, Katie Wright, Jesse Johnson, Brandon Hovde, Lance Lindgren, Anna Mills, Zach Conklin, Debby Betz, Katie Renstrom, Alisa Jones, Hayley Adams, Jacey Headley, Alexa Lindgren, Emily Paddock, Alex Lanius and Joey Hooper. The director was Patty Mills.

The Birthday group got together at the Oakesdale Cafe last Tuesday to celebrate November birthdays. Those attending were Phylis Miland, Mabel Shahan, Wanda Brown, Debbie Brown, Nina Gregory, Yvonne Rushmeier, June Crow, Francis Zimmerman, Sherry Larson, Darlene Rickett, Hazel Johnson and Colleen Rose.

Bridge Club was hosted by June Hyden at the Oakesdale Cafe last Thursday afternoon. Winning high prize was Wanda Brown, Second High Marvel Ebert, Low Nina Gregory, Traveling Frances Zimmerman and Bingo Patty Johnson. Patty Johnson will host Dec. 3.

The Volleyball sports banquet was last Tuesday night at the Oakesdale cafeteria. Desiree Chappell and Kaela Dewan were both awarded Captain Awards, Offensive Players of the Year and All-District players. Kim Pakootas and Katie Graffis were awarded Defensive Players of the Year.

Trees of Sharing gift have been put up at Crossett’s and Ditzy’s. Wrapped gifts are due back by Monday, Dec. 14. Monetary donations are also accepted at Crossett’s to help purchase the food for the families.

A fund-raiser bingo session was at the museum recently. Winning the grand prize of a Crossett’s gift certificate was Hazel Johnson. The museum is also raffling off an electric screwdriver with the winner to be announced before Christmas. To purchase tickets contact Wanda Brown, June Hyden or Dennis Palmer.

Storytime is at the Oakesdale Library every Wednesday at 12:30. Children ages 2 to 6 are invited to join for stories, crafts, snacks, songs and games.
