    Oakesdale “Comic Book Artist” will be performed by Oakesdale High School students Saturday, Oct. 27 at 7 p.m. Students have been working on character development and blocking while adding their delightful humor since mid-September.     Marv Wigen, left, was recently honored at the annual Oakesdale Fireman’s dinner as Fireman of the Year. Marv is retiring this year after 21 years of service as a volunteer for the department.     Oakesdale Oakesdale Museum is seeking new members. Annual membership fee is $5 per year. If interested contact Mayor Dennis Palmer. Oakesdale City Council welcomed new council member Kelli Meserve at the first meeting of the year last week. Reminder to get 2012 dog tags at City Hall. All dogs within city limits must be licensed. Joey Fisch was the winner of the new bike and helmet after his name was picked in the “Books for Bikes” drawing in December.     Oakesdale Over 100 descendants of Anna and George Pittmann’s 10 children gathered in the Oakesdale park on Saturday, July 9, for a family reunion and picnic. Margie Anderson, 98, Potlatch, and LaVerne Pittmann, 90, Oakesdale, were the two of Anna and George’s children in attendance. Lewis Pittmann, 91, was unable to attend. The Jim Pittmann family organized the get together.     Oakesdale Everyone is welcome to attend an 82nd birthday party for Wanda Roper at the Fire Station in Oakesdale, Sunday, Nov. 21, at 1 p.m. The event is hosted by her children and grandchildren. Local Boy Scouts collected 430 pounds of canned food for their local food drive project Saturday. The food has been donated to the local Oakesdale Tree of Sharing.     Oakesdale Students in the fourth through sixth grades Friday will travel to WSU Art Museum to see the Contemporary Australian Aboriginal art collection. The classes have been studying Australian aboriginal culture and will have a guest speaker who has traveled to Australia.
