Alethia Beebe

A memorial service for Alethia (Peggy) Beebe, 83, will be Friday, Oct. 30, at 11 a.m. at the United Methodist Church in LaCrosse. A potluck dinner will follow the service.

Born Sept. 5, 1926, in Shelton, she died in Kennewick on Oct. 22, 2009. She was a homemaker, child care provider and worked as a CNA at the Palouse Nursing Center in Colfax. She loved to crochet and was an avid reader.

Peggy was preceded in death by her husband of 50 years, Hestin Beebe.

She is survived by her children Sandra McAdams, Kennewick; Nancy Anderson, Mt. Shasta; James (Renee) Beebe, Plummer; Shirley Beebe, Kennewick; Elizabeth (Michael) Williamson, Great Falls and Carolyn (Allen) Martin, LaCrosse; brother Dan Kirkland, Tacoma, and sisters, Eunice Kempt, Kirkland, and Esther Kirkland, Orofino, 12 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.

Memorial contributions can be made to the Alzheimer’s Association or Diabetes Foundation.

Rosemary Burnett

Rosemary H. Burnett, 65, died of brain cancer at her Potlatch area home last Wednesday, Oct. 21, 2009. In accordance with her request, a service will not be conducted and she will be cremated.

Born Jan. 13, 1944, in Spokane, to Jack and Joyce Lewis Ferrell, she attended her schools at Pine City and Rosalia and graduated from Rosalia High School in 1962. She later attended a nursing school in Spokane.

She married Larry Burnett Sept. 28, 1974, in Coeur d’Alene, and they made their home near Potlatch. Rosie was a homemaker most of her life.

She was a member of the Rebekah Lodge at Malden.

Survivors include her husband, Larry, four step-sons, Rodney and John Burnett both of Potlatch; Michael Burnett, Moscow; Gary Wilson, Pasco; two step-daughters, Melonie Vielle, Spokane; Cherie Wilson, Salcha, Alaska, and one brother, Gary Ferrell, Clarkston.

The family suggests memorials to the Potlatch Ambulance Fund, c/o the Latah Federal Credit Union, Box 264, Potlatch, Idaho.

Kenneth D. Carter

A graveside memorial service for Kenny Carter, 76, was Monday, Oct. 26, at the Freeze Cemetery with the Rev. Lee Nicholson officiating. The United States Navy military honors, with the Potlatch Post #10300 participating, followed the service. He was cremated and an urn burial followed the service.

Mr. Carter died Oct. 20, 2009, in his home at Potlatch.

Born on Oct. 17, 1933, at Lewiston, to Charles and Delma Carlson Carter Sr., he attended the Potlatch schools and graduated from the Potlatch High School in 1951. He joined the United States Navy Feb. 20, 1952 and received his discharge Jan. 11, 1956. He married Frankie Sawyer in 1957 and they were later divorced.

He married Jerri Besst April 3, 1982, in Coeur d’Alene, and the couple made their home at Potlatch. Mr. Carter operated the Farmer and Logger Supply Company in Potlatch until his retirement in 1995. He installed well pumps and residential pumps for many years. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and camping.

Survivors include his wife, Jerri, Potlatch; one son, Michael Carter, Potlatch; two step-sons, Bill Domini, Spokane; Todd Domini, Olympia; one daughter, Renee Hamilton, Clarkston; two brothers, James Carter, Lewiston; Charles Carter, Jr., Moscow, and seven grandchildren.

Clifford Bromling

A celebration of life for Clifford M. Bromling, 101, a retired Everett industrial arts teacher, was Wednesday afternoon, Oct. 28, at the Courtyard in Colfax. Pastor Lynn Nelson of Colfax and the Rev. Erick Buhl of Oakesdale officiated at the observance.

Mr. Bromling died last Monday, Oct. 19, 2009, at Whitman Health and Rehab in Colfax. He had made his home for the past four years at the Courtyard in Colfax where he observed his 101st birthday March 21.

Born in Madison Lake, Minn., in 1908, he moved with his family to North Dakota and then to Spokane. He graduated from North Central High School and from Whitworth College with the class of 1931. He lettered in football, basketball and baseball teams at Whitworth. He was captain and high point scorer for the basketball team.

He and Maxine Alexander of Oakesdale were married in 1934. He enrolled in summer school at Washington State College to learn industrial arts and coaching. He taught at White Bluffs, Naches, and Cowiche before he began his career at Everett in 1945. He also coached basketball teams at the schools where he taught. He founded the safe driving school at Everett Junior College. He retired from teaching in 1973. His first wife, Maxine, died in 1981, and he married Elaine Millard in 1984. They moved in 2000 to the Alexander family farm in Oakesdale where they located a modular home. His second wife died in July of 2004.

Surviving are a daughter, Clifflyn of Mukilteo, a son, David of Oakesdale; and two grandchildren.

Memorials may go to the Arthritis Foundation, Humane Society, East Central Community Center Organic Gardens in Spokane or the charity of the donor’s choice.

Edwin Kilpatrick

Edwin Kilpatrick, 87, a resident of Oakesdale, died Tuesday, Oct. 27, 2009 at Sacred Heart Medical Center in Spokane. Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 31, at the Oakesdale Presbyterian Church with burial to follow at the Oakesdale Cemetery. Bruning Funeral Home of Colfax is making arrangements. A full obituary will be in next week’s Gazette.

Milton O. Wolf

Milton O. Wolf, 91, a longtime Latah area farmer, died Sunday, Oct. 25, 2009 at Spokane. A memorial service is pending. Kramer Funeral Home of Tekoa is handling the arrangements.
