    COLFAX — The longest discussion during last Monday’s, Dec. 21, City Council meeting was on the proposed update of the Home Occupation code, planned to come before the council in January for approval.     UNIONTOWN — A Coltan man has bought the former Eleanor’s saloon. Brian Greene bought the building earlier this month for $190,000.     COLFAX — Schools Superintendent Jerry Pugh reported that Dec. 16, was the last weekly formal construction meeting for the $18.9 million remodeling and reconstruction project. Small and “punch list” items remain, such as basketball shot clocks being mounted in the junior-senior high school gym, and replacing all 80 of the new lockers installed in the locker rooms because of a manufacturing defect on the latches.     STARBUCK - The state Department of Fish and Wildlife is seeking information on the shooting of a bald eagle and a golden eagle. The first bird was found near Payne Hollow, close to the Columbia-Walla Walla county line two weeks ago, officials said. A radiograph scan revealed that the bird had been shot, probably five to seven days before being found. The bird was alive, but so badly injured that it had to be euthanized, officials said.     COLFAX — A Pullman man in the Whitman County Jail on charges of kidnapping, attempted murder and three counts of assault allegedly committed suicide Saturday afternoon, Dec. 26.
