    The future of Central Ferry Park is up in the air because the private firm that has managed the park for the past seven years announced it was dropping Central Ferry from its roster. Northwest Land Management has overseen operations at the 170-acre park under a lease from the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers since it was dropped from the state's park system along with Lyon's Ferry and Chief Timothy in 2002.     Colfax has posted its 2011 budget draft for public review. The budget shows an overall plus of almost $26,000 with total revenue projected at $3,059,214 and expenditures at $3,033,287. The city's general fund budget, which covers most operating departments, shows a $966 deficit, the number which was presented to city council members last week when they approved a one percent hike in property tax revenue for next year.     After being told city budget projections for next year show a $9,356 deficit, Colfax City Council members voted unanimously Nov. 15 to approved a one percent hike in property tax revenue for next year. The sum will add $3,686. City Treasurer Mark Clinton reported the council has opted for the one percent hike two times in the last five years. The city also figures to receive an additional $4,745 off taxes generated by new construction which will be added to the tax base.     Tapestry Women's Choir will perform "Angels Are Singing" for their holiday season tour. The outlook for the choir was in question this season after Dale Forrey, who founded the choir, moved from Colfax to Olympia for a change of jobs.     Colfax Police are seeking information on a hit and run accident which left extensive damage to a 2007 Chevrolet Tahoe which was legally parked on Canyon Street along the Bank of Whitman. Chief Bill Hickman said the side of the Tahoe sustained extensive damage after it was hit some time between 1:30 and 2 p.m. Owner Jennifer Broeckel discovered the damage shortly after that time.     Donors around Palouse have already given $5,000 of the needed $20,000 for a solar panel tribute to the late Mike Carlton. A solar company in Mount Vernon has also agreed to donate costs of installing the panels.     The number of homes sold in Whitman County dropped sharply in the third quarter of 2010, coinciding with the expiration of the federal home buyers tax credits. According to the Washington Center for Real Estate Research, only 260 homes sold between July and October in Whitman County.
