Artist Julene Ewert's work is on display

COLFAX - Moscow artist Julene Ewert's collection of acrylic and mixed media pieces are displayed through Nov. 29 in the Libey Gallery at The Center in Colfax

"Ewert grew up in Troy, Idaho, surrounded by a family of artists who she says were 'bursting with creative energy,'" stated Nichole Kopp, of the library. "Her works show the strong influence of her grandmother who loved to sew, quilt, and embroider. She also finds inspiration from nature, travel, and using common materials in surprising ways."

Ewert describes her work as whimsical and expresses her honest and playful view of the world.
