'New Year's Baby' boy born Jan. 8

The first baby of the new year was born at Whitman Hospital Jan. 8 at 1:08 p.m., to Leslie and Jason Olin of Colfax.

Weighing 11 pounds and 11 ounces, Bennett Malcolm Olin is the first child for Leslie and Jason together. He joins sisters Elizabeth, 19, Kendall, 17, and Peyton, 14.

Maternal grandparents are Bob and Renea Manis of Richland. Paternal grandparents are Marie Olin and the late Mike Olin of Spokane.

The baby was due Jan. 3.
