A big game looms in Whitman County Thursday night as Coach Reece Jenkin, John Lustig and the 2B Colfax Bulldogs (6-2, 2-0 league) go to Oakesdale to play the unbeaten 1B Nighthawks (9-0, 3-0). Gametime is 5 p.m.
Oakesdale is coming off two wins at the Reardan Christmas tournament, beating Inchelium 46-41 and Reardan 60-51.
“It wasn’t the greatest or cleanest we’ve played but we figured out a way to win each game,” said Oakesdale Coach Carl Crider, whose team won the tournament.
Kit Hockett led with 17 points against Reardan while Simon Anderson had 13. Against Inchelium, Hockett scored 14 and Tyler Bober 11.

Kian Ankerson led the Wildcats (1-5, 1-1) with 17 points in a home loss at their Christmas tournament Dec. 26. Mitchell Billings led Tekoa/Rosalia with 15 points while Anthony Gehring had 13.

Visiting Wahkiakum rallied at the Colton Christmas tournament to beat Garfield/Palouse Dec. 28.
Austin Jones led Gar/Pal with 16 points in the loss while Blake Jones and Jacob Anderson each scored 13.

Kian Anderson scored 14 points to lead the home Wildcats as Jackson Meyer and Chris Wolf each scored 10. Meyer had 10 rebounds.

The Jones boys combined for 29 points Dec. 27 at the Colton tournament; senior forward Blake Jones had 16 points, five steals, four assists and seven rebounds, while junior point guard Austin had 13 points.
