Two area artists receive state grants

Whitman County artists Joe Hedges and Pamela Awana Lee were among 61 recipients in the state to receive $1,500 grants from 2019 state Grants for Artist Project. Total grant sum was $91,500.

Now in its 31st year, the Artist Trust GAP Awards are open to Washington State artists of any discipline. They provide support for artist projects, including the development, completion, or presentation of new work.

In total, Artist Trust received 378 applications from artists across Washington State.

Applications for the 2020 GAP awards will open in May, and the deadline to apply will be June 29. Guidelines will be posted on the Artist Trust website.
