Rosalia Garden club

Rosalia Garden Club met Oct. 2 at the home of member Rana French near Waverly for the first fall meeting. Members received the new 2019-2020 yearbook.

President Penni Barringer welcomed returning members and a new member, Debbie Porter. The program was presented by Rana French on “Dehydrating and preserving your home produce.” Members were given samples of many different vegetables and fruits, including a snack of zucchini and garlic chips.

Several youth activities with garden club members are planned in October. A youth outreach program at the Rosalia library Oct. 16 at 12:15 p.m. will include elementary students learning about fall gardening tasks.

On Oct. 18 at 2:30 p.m. a bulb planting will take place with first graders and garden club members at the Rosalia School Memorial Garden.

Garden Club members will continue to prepare the mini-park for winter through October.

Next meeting will be Nov. 6 at member Luana Maxwell’s home. She will present a powerpoint presentation on “Gardens of France.”
