Blackout Poetry at Endicott library

Tweens and teens, ages 10 and up, are invited to Blackout Poetry Wednesday, Aug. 14, at 2 p.m. at the Endicott Library. Blackout Poetry is when you take a written piece of text from a book, newspaper or magazine and redact words in order to come up with your own poetry. All supplies will be provided courtesy of the Friends of the Library.

For additional information, contact the Endicott Library at 509-657-3429. Endicott Library is open Tuesdays from 1 to 5 p.m. and Fridays from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Compassion Closet

Macedonia Baptist Church in Colfax will host its quarterly compassion closet Saturday, Aug. 17, from 10 a.m. to noon. This is a free clothing and household item giveaway. An abundance of clothing items in many sizes from infants to adults will be available.

Sessions set for 3D glasses

Kids of all ages are invited to the Uniontown Library Aug. 14 at 3 p.m. and the Colton Library Aug. 15 at 3 p.m. to create 3D glasses using card stock and cellophane. Afterwards, participants will test their new frames with 3D books and view a 3D clip. Light refreshments will be served courtesy of the Friends of the Library.

The Colton Library is open Mondays from 10 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. and Thursdays from 2:30 to 6:30 p.m. The Uniontown Library is open Wednesdays from 2 to 6 p.m. and Fridays from 9:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.

Martinez, Luca Bernardino, born Aug. 3, 2019, at seven pounds, 10 ounces, to Cassandra Marie Castañeda and Ruben Martinez Jr., Othello. Paternal grandparents are Ruben Martinez, Othello, and Margie DeLeon, Renton. Maternal grandparents are Cindy Castañeda and Peter Vanourek, Othello. Baby joins sisters Chyler, 18, and Alena, 2.
