Youngs celebrate 60th anniversary

George and Doloris Young, residents of Oakesdale and the Oakesdale area for 47 years, celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary Sept. 15 with a family gathering at the Oakesdale Fire Station. Hosts for the event were their son and daughter-in-law, Kevin and Sharon Young of Oakesdale, and their daughter, Kim Owen of Bremerton.

George Young, then from Palouse, and Doloris Krell of Tekoa, were married Sept. 14, 1958, in the Tekoa Methodist Church. They met when he was working during the summer on a farm near Tekoa and he spotted her working at a café where the crew had lunch.
