PKC announces entrepreneur awards

Palouse Knowledge Corridor’s Entrepreneur of the Palouse award in the business category went to Trent Bice, owner and operator of Allegra Printing and Image 360. For more than 20 years, the business has provided marketing materials, printing solutions and signs. Bice was credited for donating goods and services to help with various causes.

The PKC non-profit award winner was Backyard Harvest and its director, Misty Amarena. Backyard Harvest provides fresh fruits and vegetables by developing a large volunteer gleaning program, facilitating community garden, and collecting donations from productive gardens and farms. These fresh fruits and vegetables are then distributed to local food banks, senior meal programs and youth access sites.

Kraig Brown of SAM’s Apothecary was named for the Rising Star of 2018 award. Named after Brown's mother, the store opened in 2017 in downtown Pullman. It offers a wide variety of essential oils, herbs and teas. He also hosts consistent classes and events to help educate community members on the benefits of alternative medicine.
