McMorris Rodgers visits Colfax, Pullman

Eastern Washington Congresswoman Cathy McMorris Rodgers spent April 4 in Pullman and Colfax where she continued hearing from people in the fifth congressional district. She started her day by joining the Whitman County Quarterly Regional Breakfast in Colfax. She discussed some of her work in Congress and heard from the Port of Whitman about the need to protect the Columbia and Snake River dams because of the immense benefits they bring to the region.

Next, she met with current and incoming Associated Students of Washington State University leadership to discuss issues impacting students. They talked about sexual assault and mental health issues, and the congresswoman reaffirmed her support and work to try and get a DACA fix.

Next, the representative met with WSU leaders including President Kirk Schulz, Ambassador Asif Chaudhry, Vice President of International Programs and Vice President of Student Affairs Mary Jo Gonzales. They discussed issues facing students and the university.
