LaX team places third at nationals

LaCrosse FFA meats team placed third at the National FFA convention this week in Indianapolis, Ind. Team members are Nicole Harder, Britte Harder, Abby McGregor. FFA advisor is Lisa Baser.

Nicole Harder was sixth in individual scoring.

LaCrosse third, fourth and fifth graders attended the Spokane Symphony’s presentation for students Oct. 25. After this performance at the Fox theater, the students visited the Northwest Cultural Museum and walked through the Titanic exhibit.

Students in grades K-5 are observing Red Ribbon week, which helps students stay away from bad choices, especially bullying and drugs. Students attended an assembly where a guest speaker defined bullying and students asked questions.

This week students are wearing red on Monday and wearing costumes on Tuesday to say, “Boo to bad choices.” On Wednesday they are wearing crazy mixed up socks to show they won’t get mixed up in bad choices.

On Thursday students can dress as twins because friends don’t let friends make bad choices, or as a pirate because bad choices ARRRR bad.

On Friday they will wear red, white and blue.
