Merritt takes 4th at NWC race

Gavin Merritt of Tekoa/Rosalia placed fourth in the NE league run Tuesday at Northwest Christian with a 21:55.5 time behind the big win posted by Tyler Shea of Northwest Christian at 19:19.8. The Timberwolves’ Jaedyn Nortwood placed 12th at 22:42 and Issac Newton placed 17th at 23:409.1. Ryley Griffiths led the Colfax entries with 11th place at 22:31.23. Other finishers for Colfax were Chase Baerlocher, 29th at 25:06.15, and Carson Cloaninger, 46th at 26:154.5.

Garfield/Palouse runners had the lone local team finish with 194 for ninth behind NWC’s team win at 49. Mary Walker of Springdale finished three points back of the Crusaders.

Finishers for the Vikings were Dawson Dugger, 16th at 23:39; Eddie O’Neal, 57th at 27:11; Ethan Cook, 59th at 27:20; Daniel Kramer, 69th at 28:58; Logan Diets, 81st at 30:25; Danny Laughery, 82nd at 30:35; Curtis Nordstrom, 93rd at 35:59, and Christian Burt, 95th at 40:30.

St. John/Endicott finishers were Trae Anderson, 23rd at 24:20; Domonic Treis, 51st at 26:36, and Austin Coniber, 99th at 42:37.

Anais Mills of Garfield/Palouse topped the county entries in the girls race with a 27:30 for sixth place behind the win posted by Rose Melville of LRS at 24:29.

Colfax placed fourth in the team scoring with Alicia Knee booking the top finish, 20th at 31:52. Other finishers for the Bulldogs were Tayma Vanek, 22nd at 32:54; Isabelle Erickson, 29th at 34:25; Kiah Miller, 35th at 37:20; Riley Martin, 36th at 38:05, and Emma Miller, 39th at 39:47.

St. John/Endicott finishers were Catherine Treis, 13th at 30:23; Ellie Tollett, 25th at 33:35, and Guinevere Richmond, 41st at 41:31.

Sarina Hill of Tekoa/Rosalia placed 37th at 38:27.
