4H robotics camps slated

Youth from Asotin, Columbia, Garfield and Whitman counties, ages 8 through 12, are invited to register for the upcoming 4H Introduction to Robotics camps this summer. The first camp is scheduled for June 19-21, 9 a.m. to noon in the auditorium of the Public Service Building in Colfax. The following week, June 27-29, camp will be offered at Pomeroy Elementary School, 1-4 p.m.

The third camp will be July 12-14, 1-4 p.m. in the Youth Building at Columbia County Fairgrounds.

Also, the 4H Palouse Area Robotics Team 4061 will be offering SciBorg Summer Camp for youth entering seventh grade through high school Aug. 7-9, 9 a.m. to noon, at Umpqua Bank in Pullman. The registration fee is $20 per youth for this camp.

Participants will have the opportunity to build and operate Lego Mindstorm robots, learn about programming EV3 operating systems, navigate team robotic challenges and explore the field of engineering. Camp is limited to 12 participants. The registration deadline is 4 p.m. on the Friday before each camp.
