Tree comes down at Perkins House

M&J Tree Service cuts down a black walnut tree at the Perkins house June 8. The black walnut tree has a value of about $8 per lineal foot, according to Mark Teal of M & J Tree Service. He said black walnut is sought by wood workers for bowls and a variety of projects. Theresa Dale said the Perkins House will offer the lengths for sale with prices at $3 per foot for smaller pieces and $5 per foot for longer pieces.
