Church fêtes Aune birthday

Sunday, Selbu Lutheran Church had an added special dessert with its first Sunday of the month potluck lunch.

They celebrated Bud Aune’s milestone birthday this week with a birthday cake.

Lauren Claassen, daughter of Wes and Jen Claassen, received an “outstanding soloist” award for her alto saxophone playing “Samantha” at the Mt. Hood Jazz Festival this past weekend with the Colfax High School jazz band.

The band placed second in its class of competition.

Jen Claassen and Paige walked Bloomsday in Spokane with Carey and Hope Fulfs on Sunday.
