Dr. N. G. Blalock, president and executive commissioner of the world's fair commission, is about to plant a great many acres to watermelons. Speaking of the matter he said: “Those people back east don't believe we can raise good watermelons. Now I will tell you what I propose to do. I will contribute to the Washington world's fair commission enough watermelons next year to fill a train of cars, and we will send a special train of delicious melons to the world's fair.
