Phi Kappa Phi initiates Mellor

William Samuel Mellor, a member of the 2010 class of Colfax High School, was recently initiated into Honor Society of Phi Kappa Phi, the nation's oldest and most selective all-discipline collegiate honor society. Mellor was initiated at Southern Virginia University where he played on the football team and is completing studies for an undergraduate degree.

The son of Dr. Kim and Sue Mellor of Colfax, he has been been admitted to the University of Washington School of Medicine where he plans to enroll in the WWAMI program which prepares physicians for service in a five-state area.

Only the top 10 percent of seniors and 7.5 percent of juniors are eligible for membership in Phi Kappa Phi which was founded in 1897.
