Christmas tea at Center to benefit Late Bloomers

Cherry Alice Van Tine is ready to pour tea for guests at the Christmas Tea, Dec. 3 at The Center in Colfax.

The new Colfax Tea Club plans a festive holiday luncheon tea Saturday, Dec. 3, at 1 p.m. at The Center, adjacent to Whitman County Library.

The club organized last spring to host teas, such as their spring tea honoring the Thrifty Grandmothers Club. They enjoy drinking tea, hosting teas and dressing up a bit for the occasion.

The Christmas tea at The Center last December encouraged them to host a tea to celebrate the holidays this December. Members include Cherry Alice Van Tine, Della Hauser, the Hen House Chicks, Frances Wagner, Joanne Fleming, Donna Poland, Loretta Paulson, Kathy Clark and Leslie Cloaninger.

The tea will include luncheon and dessert. Tickets are $25 each or a table of six for $125. Proceeds will support the Late Bloomers Garden Club, which rehabilitated the Codger Pole Park last summer and has plans for projects in other Colfax city parks.

To purchase a ticket to the tea, contact Nancy Cochran at 509-553-5344, or Cherry Alice Van Tine at 509-397-2745 or 509-592-0317.
