Union Gap groups retreat at Dusty

Dusty

Thirteen Baptist church ladies from Union Gap, Ore. held their annual retreat at The Parsonage Bed and Breakfast Thursday through Saturday in Dusty.

Art and Colene Sager flew to Joseph, Ore., Sunday afternoon for dinner and sightseeing. They were able to take a courtesy car offered to pilots from the airport into town. The weather was so nice, they chose outside seating at the restaurant. They drove to Wallowa Lake before flying home.

Linda Hennigar and Jim Moore went to the plowing bee at the Palouse Empire Fairgrounds last Saturday. They were particularly interested in watching Tom Hennigar and his team of mules and Madison Kirking of Post Falls, daughter of Hennigar’s cousin, Brett Kirking, drive a friend’s team of horses. Kirking was there with her 4H group.

Mark Ziegler, Genessee, Idaho, and his family were guests at the Country Bible Church with Mark serving as song leader and providing special music.

During his spring break, Micah Morgan of Yakima spent several days with grandparents Harmon and Jan Smith. He enjoyed helping with the soup bagging at Country Bible Church for Homestead Ministries as one of the runners for the group.

Gathering at Suncadia near Cle Elum over the weekend, were Jan Smith’s siblings and cousins. Those attending, besides Harmon and Jan Smith, were her sister and brother-in-law Dianne and Dan Morris, Valleyford; sister Jeanne Levy and Darnell Rice, Tacoma; Colette and Michael Porter (daughter of the late Annie Stueckle Walker), Spokane; Steve and Debby Gwinn, Woodinville; and Sandy and Buddy Gilbert, Edmonds (son and daughter of the late Ruth Stueckle Gwinn). The cousins reminisced while sharing old family pictures and enjoyed much visiting and eating.

Monday evening dinner guests at the home of Karen Broeckel, celebrating their first wedding anniversary, were Andrew and Emily Nolan and children Lauren, Grady, Holden and Murphy.
