John Wayne group plans 35th trail ride ride

The John Wayne Pioneer Wagons and Riders Association plan a 35th annual ride across the John Wayne Trail, the former Milwaukee Railroad route, which had been on a would-be legislative track for partial closure last fall. The group has scheduled their ride for May 19 through June 5 when they again plan to make an appearance in the Rosalia Battle Days parade.

Tom Short of Woodinville, trail development coordinator for the riders, said the group had no second thoughts about scheduling the cross-state ride again this year. He noted some of the participants in the ride have done it every year.
