Local donation funds senior

exercise class

Thanks to an anonymous donation, exercise classes for area seniors are free at the Colfax Branch of Whitman County Library. Since last fall, a grant from Empire Health Foundation had allowed area residents over the age of 65 to participate in a number of fitness classes at no cost. When the grant ran out at the end of March, one concerned citizen stepped forward with a $1,200 donation to insure the free classes continue.

“I’ve noticed these classes are doing a lot of good for people. I am so pleased that I can step forward to see them continue,” the donor commented.

The current line-up of classes available for free to area seniors includes Fit and Fun classes with instructor Nancy Stanard, Restoration, Balance and a variety of Yoga levels from Suzy McNeilly, registered Yoga Trainer and Bootcamp Classes from Purefit trainer Carissa Little.

For specific days and times contact Whitman County Library at or visit the library's Events Calendar.
