Country Bible Church plans soup bagging

Country Bible Church will host a Homestead Ministries soup event April 10 from 10 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Bagging soup mixes for the needy will replace the usual morning worship service, so dress casually. Everyone is invited to join. Soup will be served after the bagging.

Recently, Harm and Jan Smith met their grandson Micah and his parents, Gina and Jason Morgan in Anaheim, Calif., to spend several days at Disneyland and California Adventures. Favorite rides were Thunder Mountain and Cars. Micah also received Jedi training while there. The statue of John Wayne at the airport bearing his name was a photo opportunity for the Smiths.

Recent Sunday dinner guests at the Dick Appel home were Lisa, Travis, Miriam, Rachel, Emma and Colette Frei. The girls stayed and visited grandma and grandpa while their parents took a hike along the Palouse River.

Reuben and Judy Stueckle, Puyallup, have spent the last two weeks helping out at the home of David and Phyllis Stueckle while David recuperates from back surgery. They returned home Tuesday.

Norm and Janice Pauls welcomed their third grandchild March 10. Kayley Hope was born to Carrie and Jason Lovegren of Kennewick. She joins two-year-old brother, Levi.

Warren and Connie Horton visited Warren’s sister, Willene Daniel, at her new residence at Bishop Place in Pullman. She moved there recently from her former home in Sierra Madre, Calif.

Kim and Cindy Pitts and Norm Bafus attended the wedding of Samantha Bafus to Jaelen Tace at Lincoln Center in Spokane, Saturday. Samantha is the daughter of Bob and Leann Bafus of LaCrosse. Also attending were Carrie Pitts of Yakima, Jen, Ryan, Kellen, Becket and Willa Hammons of Boise and Amanda and Erik Carlson of Spokane. Amanda and Erik’s sons, Tate and Rafe, were ring bearers for the bridal couple. They were costumed as Jedi warriors, complete with light sabers.

Friday, graveside services were held at Selbu Lutheran Church cemetery for Verna Fennimore Stephenson, native of the LaCrosse area. Attending from Dusty were Linda Hennigar and former Dusty residents Carol Kyllo and her daughter Tami Haas of Spokane.

Linda Hennigar and Jim Moore attended the first birthday party for her great-great-nephew Emmitt Hennigar in Potlatch, Sunday. Emmitt is the son of Blake and Hayley Hennigar, grandson of Randy and Linda Hennigar and great-grandson of Jack and Marilyn Hennigar.

Karen Broeckel spent more than a week in a Spokane house critter sitting for her sister while Patty Wieber, Jeanette Nolan, Brett Wieber and Jamie and Bobby Halbig were in Las Vegas for the W.C.C. basketball tournament to cheer on both Gonzaga teams.
