Crane needed to remove leaning tree after storm

A section of N. Mill Street was blocked off Tuesday morning in Colfax for removal of a leaning fir tree which has been threatening two houses in the neighborhood. The tree is located on the northeast corner of the former Sanders house at 412 N. Mill. The house, which included six apartment units, has been vacant for approximately two years.

Ed and Jan Olson, who reside in the neighboring residence to the north, vacated their residence and moved in with their daughter and son-in-law in Colfax. The base of the leaning tree is pushing against the small garage at the back of the Olson property.
