Dahmen Barn books 7 shows

The performances of Greg and Caridwen Spatz from Spokane showcase fiddle and twin-fiddle playing in a gamut of styles – Celtic, eastern European, French Canadian, old-time and bluegrass. They visit Dahmen Barn for a show on June 27.

Seven concerts are scheduled at the Dahmen Barn in Uniontown for the summer. Richard Kriehn, former Colton resident now living in Minnesota to play for The Prairie Home Companion, is coming to do a performance July 11. to kick off his new CD, “Hop, Skip, Jump.” He has played in symphony orchestras, bluegrass bands, baroque ensembles, pit orchestras, cover bands, country bands. Admission will be $15 at the door.

Other dates are as follows:

June 20: Eric Taylor from Texas. Eric is a master storyteller and has been one of the finest southern songwriters for the last four decades. He has appeared on Austin City Limits, Late Night With David Letterman, NPR's "Morning Edition" and "Mountain Stage" and BBC Radio. Admission: $15 at the door.

June 27: Greg and Caridwen Spatz from Spokane. The performance features their own unique talents showcasing fiddle and twin-fiddle playing in a gamut of styles – Celtic, eastern European, French Canadian, old-time and bluegrass. She has been hailed as having a voice "made for Celtic music…lyrical, ethereal…expressive, flexible and utterly charming." Admisson: $12 at the door.

July 18: Bridges Home from Sandpoint, Idaho. Tami and Dave Gunter, dual lead vocalists, multi-instrumentalists and purveyors of tasty Americana, Celtic, Roots & Originals. Bridges Home has placed a new emphasis on audience-pleasing original songs and the stories behind them. $12 at the door.

July 24: Dana Cooper from Nashville. Out of the heartland of America, Cooper dedicated himself to a life of music over 40 years ago. He has performed on Austin City Limits, Mountain Stage and the Kerrville Folk Festival where he was nominated for their Hall of Fame. $15 at the door.

August 15: The Fabulous Senders from the Palouse. The Senders specialize in '50s and '60s popular music that combines their love of surf music, the Beatles and classic rock. They are considered one of the best cover bands in the Inland Northwest. $25 for a couple; $15 for a single at the door.

August 28: Nu-Blu from North Carolina. The group brings its lively and entertaining version of Americana-bluegrass music to audiences across the nation year-round. $15 at the door.
